Terms of Use

Trip-ey is an informational travel planning tool. You describe the kind of trip you want, and Trip-ey builds a personal travel brief: candidate destinations, indicative costs, sample flight options, and background research drawn from public sources.

Trip-ey is explicitly not any of the following:

• Not a travel agency, tour operator or intermediary. We do not sell, resell, reserve, hold or issue flights, accommodation, insurance, packages or any other travel product, and we are not a party to any booking you make elsewhere.
• Not a booking or payment service. No reservation is created on Trip-ey and we never take payment card details.
• Not an organiser of package travel within the meaning of the EU Package Travel Directive (EU) 2015/2302 or its national implementations. Trip-ey does not combine or sell travel services, so no package travel or linked travel arrangement protection arises through us.
• Not a provider of legal, immigration, medical, insurance, financial or tax advice. Visa, entry, health and safety information on the site is general background only.

Travel information changes constantly and without notice. The website planner labels every value it shows according to how it was obtained — current provider results, cached results, modelled estimates, or explicitly fictional demonstration content — but no label makes the underlying information a guarantee.

• Prices and availability. Flight and accommodation figures in the website planner are indicative planning estimates captured at a point in time. They are not offers, not quotes, and not bookable. The price you actually pay is the one shown by the airline, property or booking site at the moment you pay it.
• Entry, visa and passport rules. Trip-ey screens destinations for likely short-stay entry requirements based on the passport nationalities you provide. This is a planning signal, not a determination. Only the relevant embassy, consulate or immigration authority can tell you whether you may enter a country, and airlines apply their own document checks at boarding.
• Safety and travel advisories. Where Trip-ey shows advisory information it links to the official source. Always read the current advisory issued by your own government before travelling.
• Demonstration content. Parts of the site — clearly marked as demonstrations — contain invented properties, room types, images, prices, policies and sample scores. These do not describe any real property, are not reviews by real guests, and nothing in them is bookable.

You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on before booking, paying or travelling. If a figure on Trip-ey and a figure from the provider disagree, the provider is right.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Trip-ey. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Trip-ey only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Trip-ey is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data; if you believe a child under 13 has given us data, write to support@trip-ey.com and we will delete it.

You may use Trip-ey without an account. If you create one, keep your credentials confidential and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.

When using Trip-ey you agree not to:

• scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-extract content or results, or use automated systems to place requests beyond normal personal use;
• circumvent rate limits, authentication, or any technical measure that protects the service;
• submit unlawful, abusive, defamatory or infringing content, or another person’s personal data without their knowledge;
• resell, sublicense or commercially exploit Trip-ey output as your own product, or present it as advice from a licensed travel professional;
• probe, attack or otherwise interfere with the security or integrity of the service or the infrastructure it runs on;
• use Trip-ey to develop a competing service by copying its content, structure or data.

We may suspend or terminate access that breaches these rules or that threatens the service or other users.

Trip-ey is currently offered free of charge. We do not ask for payment card details and we do not process payments.

If paid features are introduced, the price, what is included, the billing period and the applicable cancellation and refund rights will be presented clearly before you are asked to pay, and no charge will be made without your express agreement at that time. Those rights are set out in the Refunds & Cancellations policy.

In the website planner, you keep ownership of everything you submit — your preferences, notes and free-text requests. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and process that material for the sole purpose of operating the service for you, and, where you have separately opted in, to produce aggregated statistics that do not identify you.

How we handle personal data, the legal bases we rely on, how long we keep it and how you exercise your rights are described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, which form part of these terms.

Please do not enter sensitive personal information in free-text fields. Trip-ey does not need details about your health, disabilities, religion, sexual life, political views or ethnic origin in order to suggest a destination.

The Trip-ey name, logo, interface, text, structure, code and compilations of content are owned by Lior Ben Jashar or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may use the site and print or save your own travel brief for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, adapt or redistribute the site or substantial parts of it.

Photographs of travel styles are licensed stock photography used under the Pexels License, with photographer credits recorded in the repository. The website’s illustrative destination and accommodation artwork is generated illustration created for Trip-ey; it is editorial and illustrative and does not depict a specific real property, current conditions or a bookable offer. Airline names, place names and third-party publications referenced in research results belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and citation only.

If you believe material on Trip-ey infringes your rights, write to support@trip-ey.com identifying the material and your rights in it, and we will review and act promptly.

Trip-ey links to airlines, booking sites, government advisories and research publications. Those destinations are controlled by other people. We do not endorse them, we do not control their content, prices, availability or privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them. Your dealings with any third party are entirely between you and that party, and their terms apply.

Trip-ey is provided on an “as available” basis. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, and we may impose limits on use, without liability to you. Data providers may be slow, rate-limited or unavailable, in which case results may be incomplete or absent.

We may update these terms. When we make a material change we will update the effective date above and, where the change affects your rights, provide any notice or acknowledgement required by law. Website policy updates require acknowledgement before your next search. The extension has no in-product acknowledgement screen; material changes will be described in its listing and these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any mandatory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence, including Israeli consumer protection law, the EU consumer acquis and UK consumer law. Those rights come first and are unaffected by these terms.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law: Trip-ey is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, nor for loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill or anticipated savings, nor for any loss arising from your reliance on prices, availability, entry rules, advisories or research shown on Trip-ey, nor for missed flights, denied boarding, refused entry, cancelled or unavailable accommodation, or any decision you take on the basis of the service.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims connected with Trip-ey is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or 100 US dollars. Because Trip-ey is currently free, this will generally be 100 US dollars.

If you use Trip-ey in breach of these terms or unlawfully, and a third party brings a claim against us as a result, you agree to indemnify us for the reasonable costs, damages and expenses we incur. This does not apply to consumers to the extent such an indemnity is unenforceable under the consumer law that protects you.

You may stop using Trip-ey at any time and delete your account and associated data from your account page. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive — intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law — survive termination.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, the EEA or the United Kingdom, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. EU consumers may also use their national alternative dispute resolution bodies. We are not currently obliged to participate in, and do not commit to, arbitration before a consumer dispute body.

We aim to answer messages within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

You may install and use the extension for personal, non-commercial accommodation browsing, subject to these terms and rights that cannot be restricted by law. No Trip-ey account is needed. It changes the presentation of supported Booking.com pages and opens their existing room information and photo controls.

Photos, descriptions, prices, taxes, discounts, cancellation conditions and availability come from Booking.com’s page. They are third-party content, not Trip-ey-generated room illustrations or independently verified offers. Their ownership remains with their respective rights holders. Section 2’s planning-estimate description applies to website planner estimates, not Booking.com’s own rates shown in the extension.

Check dates, guests, currency, total price, included or excluded charges and cancellation conditions on Booking.com before confirming a reservation. Saving, passing or browsing a room does not reserve it, guarantee a price or make a payment. Any booking is made with Booking.com or the accommodation provider under their terms. Trip-ey is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Booking.com.

Booking.com changes can make photos, rates or navigation temporarily unavailable. Compatibility with every property or layout is not guaranteed. Close the chooser to use the original interface, or disable or uninstall the extension in Chrome and reload affected tabs. Chrome may deliver updates under your browser settings.

Saved selections are temporary and local to the current page. They do not create cloud saves or contribute to the optional statistics program in section 6. See the extension privacy disclosures for permissions, storage and deletion details.
